Sarkoy
"A somewhat confusing name since two places exist with this name, one being the old name of the frontier town of Pirot in present day Yugoslavia and the other in European Turkey on the northern Mediterranean coast in the area once called Thrace. It would seem that kilims were made in both places, but that the majority of examples usually called 'Thracian' in rug literature were actually woven in Pirot. Very geometric designs and distinctive palettes - combinations of red, grey and blue or brown and blue, green and yellow being the two best known.
